Dormer garage plans are a great way to enhance  attic or loft space within the roof. They bring ventilation, view, and light into the otherwise dark cavity. You can use shed dormers with a forward sloped single roof plane. You can have wide dormers with their own raftered roof structure. These are used in raftered main roof designs. Gable dormers are often called "doghouse" dormers. In these we make smaller openings for light and ventilation - are usually not less than 2 feet, nor more than 6 feet wide.
