Carriage House Plans
Carriage House plans are designed by Behm Design.
Transportation companies used these buildings to store and park carriages and made rest spaced for the animals they used. City planners often built these right in town with buildings for convenient access. They had oversized swing out doors, modest living spaces within attic spaces for the drivers and workers. They built dormers with openable windows. It was a recognizable building type and part of in-city living. Over many years that followed the obsolescence of drawn carriage travel these buildings were re-purposed. Their legacy has inspired generations of architects and designers and this archetype presents in many contemporary buildings. Our collection of the Carriage House type of garage plans has been very popular and we have a good selection of sizes available.
