Plan 1476-4 is one of Behm Design’s all-time most popular. This was originally drawn many years ago and, with updating per building code references, remains a best seller. The design uses attic-type trusses which create the second floor loft within the profile of the steep-sloped roof. The dormers are functional and actually required for the optional apartment use.
The second floor loft this garage plan can be used for a variety of purposes and is drawn as a “U” (utility) category building. Also included is a optional apartment layout which could be built in the second story but, for building code compliance, would require additional information and specifications for R3 (residential) occupancy.
