The monitor style garage plan 1600-1 captures the iconic form of agricultural buildings of the past. The bays each have extra depth for work or storage areas and the loft is very large suited for many uses. Construction is relatively economical because the required lumber sizes for moderate spans. It is rare to find a prescriptively code compliant garage plan in this form and size, usable in A, B and C seismic categories and 110 mph wind speed, and, in most cases, without any extra engineering required.
