Colonial Style Garages

Our Colonial style garage plans are interpretations of the reconstructed, restored and preserved 18th-century "dependencies" (outbuildings) of the historic district area of Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. The original buildings were built with methods and materials that are different than those of today, such as stacked timber, timber posts, and beams with an infill of mud and plaster or clay. There were also many true brick masonry structures. We have designed these garage plans to closely resemble the original buildings after careful consideration of scale, proportions, patterns, textures, and details. This way the buildings are code compliant and so have measures of safety and quality built in with much lower cost and maintenance than the originals.
