This has become a truly popular category because many communities have building height limits of 15' for accessory buildings - especially in older areas. If you are not certain of the local limits you can contact your Zoning or Planning Dept. They will have a height limit, as well as, building setbacks from property lines, lot coverage limits, etc. Height restrictions are often imposed to prevent the proliferation of secondary dwelling units in the Single Family zones where one can find attic apartments and grandfathered-in second story apartment units. We have 120 garage designs with less than 15 feet of grade to peak height.
